Accessibility Statement
Adamic exists so that language is never a barrier to being part of a conversation. Disability shouldn't be a barrier either. This statement describes our accessibility commitment, the features available today, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.
1. Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG is the international standard for making web content usable by people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, cognitive or speech disabilities. "Level AA" is the level most laws and organizations expect. We test new features against these guidelines with keyboard-only and screen-reader checks before release.
2. Accessibility features
- Real-time captions in your language. Everything said in a meeting is captioned and translated into your written language. Captions are announced to screen readers through a live region (meaning an area of the page that assistive technology reads out when it changes).
- Keyboard navigation. Every control can be reached with Tab and Shift+Tab, with a clearly visible focus outline. A Skip to content link is the first thing on every page. In meetings: M mutes or unmutes your microphone, V turns your camera on or off, C shows or hides captions, and H raises your hand (shortcuts are ignored while you are typing).
- Screen reader compatibility. Buttons and controls have descriptive labels, video tiles announce who they show, and status changes such as "Reconnecting" are announced.
- High contrast mode. Switch it on in Settings → Accessibility or from the footer on any page. It raises text and control contrast beyond the WCAG AA minimum.
- Adjustable text size. Choose Small, Medium, Large or Extra large in Settings → Accessibility. The whole interface scales.
- Reduced motion. Turns off animations and transitions. We also follow your operating system's reduced-motion setting automatically.
- Translated chat, documents and whiteboard text, so written content is available in your language.
Your accessibility settings are saved to your account and to the device you're using, so they apply everywhere you sign in.
3. Known limitations
- Video tiles show live video that cannot carry text alternatives; the speaker's name and captions provide the equivalent information.
- Whiteboard drawings are visual. Sticky notes and text on the whiteboard are translated and readable, but freehand drawings are not described.
- AI captions can contain errors (see our Terms of Service). They are not a certified captioning service.
We are working to address these limitations and will update this statement as we do.
4. Reporting an accessibility problem
If something in Adamic is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us using the Report an accessibility issue form on this page, or email accessibility@adamic.io. Please describe what you were trying to do, the page or feature, and any assistive technology you use (for example a screen reader and browser). You don't need to be technical; we'll follow up.
5. How quickly we respond
- We acknowledge every report within 2 business days.
- Critical issues, meaning those that stop you joining or taking part in a meeting, are targeted for a fix within 10 business days.
- Other issues are targeted for a fix within 30 days.
- If a fix will take longer, we'll explain why, give you an expected date, and offer a workaround where possible.
6. Ongoing commitment
Accessibility is part of how we build Adamic, not a one-time project. We review this statement at least once a year and whenever we release significant new features. We welcome feedback at any time.
